Do Less

Do Less

Have you ever thought to yourself, “Why am I doing this?”

This was my exact thought while tackling my overgrown backyard. Although I enjoy being outdoors, maintaining my yard means continual activity that takes time and effort. To me, it needs more time than I care to give.

Simplify & Prioritize

Searching for a solution, I re-assessed my priorities and focused on the most important aspects of my life. I decided I wanted to invest more time in relationships with my family and friends and participate more in my community. While I could do every task myself, some only marginally, my conclusion was DO LESS! GET HELP!

My next step was to hire a landscaping service. It is worth relinquishing some jobs and incur a little expense to enable me to have a life balance. Hiring an expert also meant the job (that could have taken hours for me) was finished faster by someone with more expertise.

How Can You Do Less?

Many business owners find themselves in similar situations. They are trying to “do it all” to operate and grow their business. If you take a moment to step back and remember your goals and passions for your business, it can help you focus on your special talents and skills that brought you to this place.

One of the things we do at hb&k is help business owners do less. We do this by offering outsourced accounting solutions and business consulting services. If there are aspects of your business that take you too much time and effort, consider hiring an expert who can check off those items faster and with more expertise. A few examples where we can help are the following:

  • Guide you through Lean Six Sigma to develop more efficient processes.
  • Help you set ambitious goals for growth through Strategic Planning.
  • Create a dashboard for you to track daily, weekly, monthly finances.
  • Help you identify and train in software for expense reporting, bill payment, invoice sending, and even time-sheet tracking.

Benefits of Doing Less

We live in a world where we want to do it all. But just because one is capable of doing everything, doesn’t mean it is always the best use of your time and energy – or the most profitable. Getting help and doing LESS can benefit your business by simplifying processes and creating more time to focus on achieving bigger goals than just making sure your payroll is run every week.

Personally, doing less can enhance your work/family life. In addition to having more time, when you let an expert take over an area of work that causes you stress, you’ll find you are happier and able to focus on the parts of your business that you actually enjoy.

Perhaps it is payroll or bookkeeping that is a drudgery to you. Or maybe you would like some consulting to take your business to the next level. Either way, set up a meeting to just talk with us and let us know what’s stressing you. Allow others to help, do less, and be your BEST!
